Limerick and Drom-Broadford Martin Stokes, father of player Jason suspended for 96 weeks

The 96-week ban proposed for the supporter of a Limerick club who confronted an opposing player that had been sent off in last Sunday's county final, was the maximum that could be handed out in accordance with GAA rules.
Martin Stokes, father of Drom-Broadford player Jason, has had the suspension proposed after the county's Competition Controls Committee (CCC) reviewed the referee's report and pictures of the incident involving Newcastle West player James Kelly.
Kelly was walking off the field after being sent off for picking up a second yellow card.
He had been involved in an altercation with Jason Stokes that resulted in his dismissal.
The Limerick CCC have decided to take no other action in relation to any other incidents that took place during the match.
Stokes has three days in which to seek a hearing and challenge what the Limerick CCC are proposing.
The meeting took place in the University of Limerick on Monday night.
If he accepts the ban he will be prohibited from attending the replay that takes place on Friday night (7.15) at the Gaelic Grounds.
Limerick County Board have already decided that supporters will be confined to the Mackey Stand for the duration of the game.
