Simonstown got off to a good start ahead 0-4 to 0-1 after 11 minutes in Tullamore Sun 13 Nov 2016.  Rhode commanded a 2 point lead at the interval 0-6 to 0-4. Simonstown’s midfielder Shane O'Rourke picked up two yellow cards, the second of which got him a red for a challenge on Rhode’s Stephen Hannon at 39th minutes. Simonstown were left with 14 men for the last 23 minutes which didn’t help them. Simonstown battled hard with 19-year old centre-back Brian Conlon making runs. Colm O'Rourke manager was sent from the side line in the first half by referee Patrick Maguire from Longford who controlled the game. Conor Nash is off to Australia and Aussie Rules shortly.
