Meath Player Donncha Tobin moving to Australia

Donncha Tobin moving to Australia
New Meath football boss Mick O'Dowd must plan without rising star Donncha Tobin next year.

The Blackhall Gaels clubman, who enjoyed an outstanding debut season at right half back for the Royals this year, is planning to move to Australia and thus, has not been included in O'Dowd's preliminary squad. Chris O'Connor and Mark Ward, who struggled with injuries this year, and goalkeeper David Gallagher, who has retired, are also missing.

There is a recall for Paddy O'Rourke, who will be eager to regain the goalkeeping spot after being tried in the forwards by former boss Seamus McEnaney in 2011. Kilmainham's Mickey Newman and Summerhill's Davy Dalton, who starred for NUI Maynooth in last season's Sigerson Cup, are also included as are Davy Lyons, Sean Tobin, Cormac Rowe and Darragh McNamara.
