Simonstown got off to a good start ahead 0-4 to 0-1 after 11 minutes in Tullamore Sun 13 Nov 2016.  Rhode commanded a 2 point lead at the interval 0-6 to 0-4. Simonstown’s midfielder Shane O'Rourke picked up two yellow cards, the second of which got him a red for a challenge on Rhode’s Stephen Hannon at 39th minutes. Simonstown were left with 14 men for the last 23 minutes which didn’t help them. Simonstown battled hard with 19-year old centre-back Brian Conlon making runs. Colm O'Rourke manager was sent from the side line in the first half by referee Patrick Maguire from Longford who controlled the game. Conor Nash is off to Australia and Aussie Rules shortly.

Andy McEntee new Meath manager.


Andy McEntee has been confirmed as the new Meath  manager.

McEntee who guided Ballyboden St Enda's to an All Ireland club championship win this year will replace Mick O'Dowd who stepped down after Meath’s defeat to Derry in July.
McEntee will continue to manage Ballyboden the club have confirmed.
Gerry McEntee, Donal Curtis and Finian Murtagh are the new selectors.

Meath led by seven points at the break, but Derry turned the game around in the second half.
Derry scored six points in the first eight minutes of the second half.
Derry lost centre-back Brendan Rogers to a black card
Meath had led until the 68th minute, when Derry got a goal with  substitute Niall Loughlin with a low  ball  past Meath’s Paddy O'Rourke.
Derry played the last few minutes with 14 men using all their subs after Conor McAtamney's dismissal with a black card.
Meath’s manager Mick O'Dowd stepped down after four years in charge.

Five of Meath's six starting forwards were withdrawn.
Dublin restricted Meath to three points in the second half.

Meath overcome Louth in Parnell Park, Dublin

Meath were up at the break, 0-11 to 0-6.

Meath were 0-18 to 0-11 clear when Louth's Jim McEnaney put a shot past Meath’s Paddy O'Rourke for the only goal on 64 min.
